The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment. His main focus is mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers can be a great option for those who want to get rid of mopping off their to-do lists. Some have great navigation and obstacles avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you need to choose if you want a  robot vacuum cleaner  that also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list, making it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of my favorite navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in robot vacuums. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery during the cleaning.

It is very quick and does a great job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in one go. Its 8,000pa suction motor will quickly pick up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, but not by much. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into difficult corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger debris such as books and toys that have been damaged.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't make more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is simple to install and performs well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum solely for mopping it is important to be aware of this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase an extremely efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.

The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the house and identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and effectively. This results in a thorough, consistent clean which is also relatively fast.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. They can reach corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. They also have a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads are able to be cleaned and dried to prevent build-up and reduce odors.

Another noteworthy feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction, and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more random patterns. You can also select the number of passes which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

The device comes with a expensive price, but has a variety of innovative features. However, it's important to note that it incurs periodic expenses in the form of mopping equipment and maintenance. For example the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hours, and mop pads must be changed every one to three months.

The robot vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and comes with a wide array of physical automation features. The vacuum also has an power button that doubles as the 'Clean button' and a Home' button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who just wants a cleaner home without spending a lot of time on chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. It is a powerful machine with intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home tidy with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a two-in-one vacuum and mop. It can do both vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two components which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with microfiber pads. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.

Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its most impressive feature was its accurate map of your floorplan, which it uses to create the path to follow when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which can help to keep specific areas of your home from being cleaned with a mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair of pets. It was able capture an enormous amount of hair our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs while other robots struggled. It was silent and also had a few pleasant jingles that let you know when it was about to start or completing its task.

The biggest flaws were its lack of sophistication and the requirement to swap out the modules whenever switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app cannot save multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. However, it does have some unique features which make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is notable for its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as a 2.5 milliliter dust bin.

The base has several control buttons, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot, or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it is entangled in a hazard like a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't work until you manually untangle it. This is a rare event however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert on its app.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad but the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a major change from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome view in a market which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
